Two ECE Inventors have high hopes for robotic tree planter

Tree Planting Robot

Two UVic Electrical and Computer Engineering students, Nick Birch and Tyler Rhodes, have built a tree planting robot, and started a company called Iota Enterprises as part of an Entrepreneurial Co-op work term. Their goal is not to replace workers, but to assist them, and to do something to help offset the global problem of deforestation. In many parts of the world, forests are not being replaced at the the rate they are disappearing. Their work has generated a lot of interest so far.
